Gerry Gives Back to His Community

Gerry, the HVAC guy who had a business enterprise with Mike the plumber, had been working hard since he was nineteen years old.

He and his wife now had two kids, and although he knew he had worked hard for what they were able to achieve, he also knew he owed a lot to his community. Mike decided that he wanted to do something else with his life. He was tired of crawling around bathrooms and digging up pipes in yards, so he wanted to go back to school to see if he could get a desk job. Gerry decided he would just carry on the HVAC business without Mike, and he wished him well. They maintained their friendship and all was well on that front. Gerry was able to hire a new employee, and then he hired a second a/c tech a few months after that. Because he had more employees, he could take on more work. Taking on more work made Gerry think about how good the community had been to him throughout his life. He had a teacher who believed in him and encouraged him to learn HVAc at the trade school. There, he had more teachers who encouraged him and got him his first job as an a/c technician straight out of heating and cooling school. He had people at his church who hired him when they had other choices and he had the church itself. He admitted that so many things happened just right that there was likely some divine intervention going on. That is when Gerry decided his HVAC company needed to give back. He started by sponsoring a city T-ball league. The name of the HVAC business emblazoned across the tiny jerseys was cute.
