There are definitely times when I wonder how I managed to get through in life separate from having a smartphone on hand at all hours of the day.
This was life until 2013 when I attempted to use a Windows smartphone on a whim because my cell phone carrier was no longer offering flip phones and slider phones.
I had to get something with a data contract, there just wasn’t a good choice that year. Although my phone carrier started adding aged phones again after so many complained, it didn’t take a long while for myself and others to fall in love with the brand new technology. Suddenly I no longer was lost trying to find current businesses, whether I wanted to check out a current store or if I had a doctor’s appointment at an unusual office. All I have to do is open my maps app, write in the address or business name, and I’m right away given the opening of many routes and how long each will take. If I so desire, I can also enable turn by turn instruction which narrates each step of the way sort of like an aged GPS device. Another option that I have is entering a genre of business, diners, gyms, or bookstores, and then the application gives me a list of several options in whatever area I’m located. This is especially useful if you’re in a town that you’re not particularly used to. Recently I used this feature to locate a commercial and industrial device company that offers chiller rentals. My best pal runs a pressing citrus processing plant and utilizes chillers to cool her device and her entire facility. Since her chillers are down for repairs at the moment, she needs to rent a temporary portable chiller so she can resume operations. She was happy when I found a few options for her on my phone during my breakfast outing the other day.
