My partner & I divide our time between a greater & older loft in the north & a newer & smaller lake loft in the south.
We spend the weeks from November to March in our little, lakeside house in order to avoid subzero temperatures & excessive snow! Leaving the loft in the north empty creates some problems.
The residence is not equipped with a traditional, centralized gas furnace. There is no HVAC duct with vents situated in each room. We rely on a combination of heating opportunities that require a great deal of repair. We don’t trust the oil heating systems to operate reliably & prevent water pipes from freezing in our absence. I finally made the decision to install a modern, ductless heat pump into the dining room. Although purchasing the device was rather costly, I felt it was worth it for the sake of peace of mind. I then invested a significant amount of money to have the heat pump installed. I was not ecstatic with how the outdoor or indoor components look. They significantly detract from curb appeal plus the aesthetics of my dining room. I was willing to put up with the unfortunate location of the compressor & air handler in order to have dependable heating. I was already down south when the corporation completed the job. I asked my mother to stop at the loft & make sure the heat pump was operating respectfully, and she told myself and others that the machine wasn’t putting out any heat at all. I have now called the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C corporation numerous times. I’ve flown lake loft in an attempt to get the heat pump running. It’s now the middle of January & although I’ve spent a ton of time & money on this project, I still haven’t solved the problem.
