I always have had fake Christmas trees for as long as I can remember! My modern wife, on the other hand, always had real Christmas trees.
So we had a real Christmas tree on our first Christmas as a married couple. That is when I came to learn that I am allergic to pine trees. The tree was only up for roughly 3 weeks however it was a bad several weeks. I am sure my wife would have agreed to get rid of the real tree if she would have known I was suffering from having it around. However, it took a week and a half before I came to realize it was the tree that was making me sick. Then I made the choice that I only had a little bit more to go before Christmas was over. So I didn’t say anything. Well we got rid of the tree however my pollen irritations still didn’t get much better. I tried changing out the air filter for our Heating and A/C device and that’s when I observed that there were a great deal of pine needles in our air filter. I shone a flashlight down inside of our system of ductwork and there are a huge amount of pine needles all up inside of the system of ductwork too. No wonder I am still having severe allergy symptoms. It was easily a bad move to put a live Christmas tree over a Heating and A/C duct to begin with. I had no idea in the least that those real trees shed that huge amount of needles. So now I have hired Heating and A/C professionals to come out and do a thorough ductwork system cleaning. I’ll easily have them do a tune up on our Heating and A/C device while they are at it, but, next year we are getting a fake tree.
