No thank you.
My friends are all super worried about this Covid virus. Don’t get me wrong, I think we should take precautions but I don’t think we should stress so much about it. After all, it is just going to have to run its course. I wasn’t surprised when my book club canceled our in person meetings however. We started meeting over a video platform instead. It is just not the same. It is not that I mind sitting in my own home with my heater on, a warm cup of coffee, and with my cat on my lap. It is just that I miss the true social interactions. However, I missed all of that a little less when my friend Heather asked me to come pick up a book from her house. She didn’t want to leave the house so I made the drive to hers. The first thing I noticed when I entered her house was how hot and humid it was inside. It felt like she had the heater up to 85 degrees. She also had humidifiers on and a few air purifiers too. She explained that the Covid virus doesn’t like heat and humidity then she handed me the book and sent me on my way. I had hoped to hang out a bit but not after feeling the heat and humidity in that house. No thank you. I would rather go home to my comfortable house. Now I am glad we aren’t having in person book club meetings. I can’t imagine trying to talk about books and authors when I was uncomfortably hot and moist.
