When I was a youngster, I used to typically care about going to the corner store to get candy and a drink.
Sometimes I would opt for nachos or whatever food items they had.
They sold pizza, moderate dogs, and taquitos… You could even get burritos and sandwiches for a reasonable price. I easily spent a lot of time relaxing at the corner store either playing the arcade machines they had or just relaxing while listening to rock n roll and studying magazines. I would typically ask the workers there if they would adjust the temperature control settings, but they typically would refuse. They said the boss typically said they were not allowed to mess with the temperature control settings, which I thought was ridiculous. Eventually I ended up applying to work at the cornerstore myself since I enjoyed laboring at the location so much. I started with simple tasks like sweeping and mopping the floors. I started stocking items properly and eventually I was trusted to be put behind the register. I was typically honest and didn’t steal anything of course, although I did believe the need to adjust the temperature control settings. So I l received when the boss was going to be around and when she was out, I would crank up the A/C system so I could be nice and cozy at work. It’s funny because naturally more people started coming to the corner store because they knew I was cranking the A/C system. People honestly loved that and the boss was impressed with myself and others because I somehow brought more business!
