I savor to make upgrades that let me save more money.
For too long I was driving a gas guzzling truck that barely got 12 miles to the gallon in gasoline.
I was filling the tank yearly and spending outrageous amounts of money in the process. At the time I was young and stupid and had graduated from a private school full of rednecks who liked to take trucks, ATVs, dirt bikes, and other off-road vehicles to mudpits to gathering and drench themselves in mud. I recognize this culture put peer pressure on me to get a truck, because subconsciously I knew that would make me fit in better than some random “wimpy” sedan. Once I started paying my own bills, I realized the truck was only practical if I was entirely using it for its intended purpose. Since I’m a white collar worker in a call center, there was no justification for the expense of owning a truck that I could barely afford to drive. Getting a sedan was a pressing benefit to my budget and my disposable income. This one change brought about a transformation in my financial situation. That’s why I also purchased a smart control unit recently. I learn on Heating and Air Conditioning forums that they’re superb for taking care of the weather conditions control separate from needing your direct involvement. Just using it manually for a few weeks will deliver the machine’s AI an plan of what your heating and cooling needs are, and it will find ways to balance that with energy efficiency. It might turn off at particular times of the afternoon, especially once the sunlight sets and the radiant heat is diminished. I savor that I can turn it on and forget about it! The smart control unit finds a comfortable temperature separate from driving up my electricity bill. I’m thankful for the upgrade.
