New town and new HVAC equipment

This is all a bit new to me.

Having spent almost all of my life in or around one region in the south, I just haven’t seen that much of the country.

I even went to university just a few hours from where I grew up. And when I graduated, I took a job that was only about an hour from my hometown. Until this recent move, that’s where I’d been. So I got into a routine of HVAC cooling throughout much of the year followed by a very mild winter. Our winter was so mild that we rarely saw any HVAC heating needed during the winter. The heat pump definitely got a well deserved break during the winter. So the weather and the HVAC equipment were added to the long list of things that I’m attempting to get familiar with in our new town. My wife took a job that came with relocation. We’ve raised our family and this is a position that will track her right into retirement with a very nice salary that will lead to an increased pension. I have transitioned to working remotely so I was up for the adventure. And so far, it’s been a lot to take in. Having a new gas furnace is a blessing as I’m not exactly sure what I’m in for with the winter. It’s just Thanksgiving and it’s already far colder than anything I have ever experienced. So, I imagine that I will be spending a great deal of time indoors with that gas furnace pumping out the HVAC heating I’ll need.
