It had been quite some time since the last time Alison was happy with her job.
- At first, she’d found it quite fulfilling.
But, things changed when they got new management. They demanded so much from their employees, and the compensation wasn’t that good. When the pandemic hit, the company wasted no time in cutting their salaries, citing low sales and such matters. Alison knew all of this was bull crap and opted to quit. She’d been thinking of it for some time, but the way her employer was acting was the last straw. Her brother encouraged her to move back home, go to HVAC school and join him in his HVAC company. He was doing so well and always said Alison was a natural when dealing with heating and cooling units. Alison had worked alongside her older brother throughout high school and learned a lot. So, she decided to take him up on the offer. He paid for her HVAC training, which took 18 months to complete, and became a certified HVAC specialist. Her brother put her to work immediately, handling calls all over town. Alison was so happy to be out and about doing something she liked. She knew from her first repair call that she had made the right decision to quit. It was scary starting a new career as an HVAC specialist, but she didn’t have any dependents, plus her older brother had lent her his pool house to be her temporary home until she got back on her feet financially. Her goal was to become the best HVAC specialist in the area.
