I’ve lived in this region my entire life.
Yet, I’m not so sure that I’d be able to live here without the help of HVAC cooling. That would be something that might be a deal breaker. I definitely don’t want to live anywhere that has a Wintertide that needs a gas gas furnace either. So thankfully, I can rely on my heat pump to do all the stuff I need for it to do to keep me comfortable while in the heat season around here. Most people thing that the heat pump simply blows cool air into the house. While there is some similarity, the HVAC cooling process is a bit more complicated. The heat pump starts cooling the home by definitely removing the heat energy. The heat pump extracts the heat energy from the ambient air and exhausts that heat energy outside. That’s why there are all those fins on the HVAC cupboard outside. Then, cooler air comes in behind the exiting heat energy. That cools the home and, in essence, that’s the HVAC cooling process. It definitely is a remarkable process and a single that I give thanks for to be sure. But the HVAC cooling process is also performing another honestly important process. As the heat energy is being extracted, so to is a bunch of moisture from the air. Add to that the cooler dryer air that replaces what is being sleepy outside and you have automatic humidity balance. That’s a crucial deal for our health as it mitigates mold growth. And I’m absolutely all for that. Plus, the air inside an air conditioned home is not only cooler but crisper. And that feels great.
