I no longer allow myself any snacks, beer, cheese, bread or pasta
I’ve regularly been dedicated to a typical workout regiment. I’ve regularly eaten quite healthy. I am a vegetarian & cautious about sugar, fats & empty calories. I always eat a banana in the afternoon & a yogurt with some fresh fruit for lunch. For lunch, I load up on fresh vegetables, fish, rice & superfoods. I seldom snack in-between meals & limit the amount of booze I drink. For the majority of my adult life, I’ve worked on a very consistent weight. I’ve felt good about how I look. In the last couple of years, I’ve picked up a few extra pounds right in my tummy area. This problem is most likely the result of growing older & my metabolism slowing down. I suppose that going through menopause can also lead to weight gain. I’m not happy about it. I have increased the length & intensity of my weekly workouts. I jump rope for anywhere from fifteen to 20 minutes per day. I invested into an incline bench to increase the benefits of upper & lower abdominal exercises. I’ve nearly doubled the amount of lunges, squats & weight lifting I do. I’ve started running & riding my bike more often. While I’ve seen a small improvement, it’s not enough. I’m now breaking back on my portions of food. I no longer allow myself any snacks, beer, cheese, bread or pasta. I’ve lost a few pounds, but I’m not sure it’s possible to get back to my ideal weight on my own. It might be necessary to sign up with a personal trainer.
