I have an uncle who is an avid lover of nature, and lives up in the mountains. Ever since I was young, he’s been living in this place, anc likes it. Mom says uncle Vick has been a nature lover since they were young. In fact, he typically begged their folks to take them camping in summer, and at times even in winter. When he finished school, uncle Vick tried working in an office with HVAC, but gave it up after a year. Instead, he took money he had saved, and purchased land anywhere isolated. There he set up a small glamping venture and also does freelance work. My mom would take me to visit him, and this became my special place to be when I needed to clear my mind. It’s been several months since I was last to see Uncle Vick and did so this past summer. He was cheerful while I was there, and even showed off some changes to the house. My uncle bought his first ductless AC and he was so stoked. Summers can get quite hot, especially in August. So, he was happy to have the cooling unit set up in his cabin. In winter, my uncle relies on a wood stove to keep warm. He told me he is in the process of getting a geothermal heat pump set up in the cabin. Those types of heating and cooling systems don’t come cheap. Thankfully, my uncle doesn’t spend money that much, and he has the savings for the task. Work on the geothermal heat pump is set to start soon, and I can’t wait to see how that transforms the cabin.
