Freelance Heating, Ventilation, and A/C work comes and goes

Things would be a lot odd if I had people depending on me, like my brother Jim does! Jim has teenagers and a wifey, he has a mortgage to spend money plus a car note, which means Jim relies on a steady income.

Jim can’t afford to take chances, although I can.

All I have is a dog, and it’s pretty cheap to feed the dog, so I can play fast and loose with my work. Jim and I are both certified Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialists, although my wonderful friend and I follow honestly odd paths in life. Jim works for one of the local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C companys, mostly doing installs for new construction. He works on the bare-bones construction sites, putting in ductwork before the other systems are installed. I am a freelance A/C repair tech, picking up gigs here and there as needed. Technically speaking I am a “freelance independent Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company” which makes it honestly simple for me to find side gigs. When an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company is behind on work, or doesn’t have enough techs, sporadically they hire a freelance company like me to pick up the slack. I don’t have to sign a bunch of paperwork or punch a clock, I am contracted for a unique piece of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C work, and then my wonderful friend and I can transfer on… Periodically I find an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company who has a lot of extra work, and I stay in one spot for a few weeks. Jim has security in his task, with health benefits and a set schedule. I am “catch as catch can” and work Heating, Ventilation, and A/C gigs only when I want to.
