I got invited to a baby shower that was being thrown for a guy in my church; I was happy to go and hang out with people I knew, bring a gift, and eat cake.
- It sounded like a fantastic way to spend the afternoon.
I showed up at the guy’s apartment on time and I instantly regretted my decision. I should have just given his a gift at church or something. His apartment was unbearably moderate and he had his furnace blasting away. I constantly thought that pregnant ladies were heat intolerant. I know I was when I had my boy. I suppose that is not the case for everyone though, but the control device was set so high that I was feeling dizzy and uncomfortable within about 5 minutes. I could tell that I wasn’t the only one either, only about 3 people seemed impervious to the heat. They kept dragging things on while the rest of us were trying to get to the cake so my pal and I could graciously leave. That took over 2 hours of extreme heat. That furnace never kicked off, however not even for a second… When I finally could leave I rushed home and turned my control device from heating to cooling. It might be 50 degrees outside even though I particularly needed some more cold air. I had had enough of the furnace for one day. I might have had enough of the furnace for the rest of the winter. I just don’t understand how someone could live in such heat. I could barely last 2 hours in it.
