My father has terminal cancer and this will be his last Christmas.
The two of us all feel it. That is why both of us decided to chop quarantine and spend a single last Christmas together as a family, but i am the only a single of my siblings that still lives in our hometown (near our parents). That is why it was decided that I would be hosting the Christmas party. I don’t mind, my house is big enough. Besides, I wouldn’t want to put the burden on our parents. They have enough to deal with! However, I did insist that both of us take some precautions. I’m asking that all the people wear masks except when both of us are eating. I also have made some upgrades to my HVAC method to keep my house healthy… For starters: I installed a strong air filter in my HVAC system. It has the strongest MERV rating available. I also got some HEPA filters and will be placing them throughout the house. Those filters have UV lights in them and they catch and kill anything that passes through. My house also has a whole house humidifier installed and I plan to turn up the humidity before my family arrives. Humidity and heat kill virus particles too. It will be wonderful to see all the people again. I am delighted my siblings, and their families, will be able to see Dad a single last time. I just wish it wasn’t in the middle of a pandemic. But it is what it is, then at least I feel my HVAC method has my back. I feel everything will be ok. Merry Christmas!
