When I was a kid, I can remember just how blissful I was when dad would surprise me with a weekend camping trip. This was something I was typically hoping for. Dad would just show up at school and whisk me out of the air conditioning for the woods. It was just so cool how he simply took me out of school while all my friends had to finish the afternoon. And then, we’d be off for some camping spot that was in our rotation. I’m sure my mom loved having the quality heating and air of condo all to herself on those weekends. That was a long time ago but those memories stayed with me for a lifetime. So much so that I recently purchased and ancient hunting cottage. The cottage itself didn’t have much more than a wood stove for heating. It sits on 7 acres but the land backs up into a national forest. It’s undoubtedly an amazing spot. I ended up doing some renovations to the cottage itself. The place has multiple family rooms, indoor plumbing and a kitchen. I added many ductless heat pumps immediately. I was still a rookie when it came to lighting and maintaining heating fires. So having some residential Heating, Ventilation, and A/C was essential. The ductless heat pumps will also be nice in the Summer for sleeping. I think this will be a good place for my extended family to enjoy. I’m hoping that my grandteenagers get as huge a kick out of being in nature as I did when I was their age.
