We both enjoy horror films a lot.
Every Friday night, we rent a movie from one of the many available streaming services and watch it from start to finish.
No matter how good or bad it is, we’ll still finish the movie. I’m sure there are times when I just want to say, “This is terrible, we need to end the night,” or suggest switching to another movie. The issue we face is that we dislike spending more money than what we pay for the initial rental. We run to the store for inexpensive snacks, microwave the popcorn, buy our favorite drinks, and then watch a movie. Oh, and a blanket so we can cuddle up on the couch before I forget. In order to feel comfortable cuddling, we also like to turn the central air conditioning on to the coldest setting. The body heat is a little too much for us even though we have been together forever. With the recently installed smart thermostat, we’ll adjust the central air conditioning. We met Pete, who was possibly the coolest HVAC technician I have ever met, and that was a great addition as well. Some people wonder how we pick the horror film for the evening. I can confirm that we each put three movie titles in a hat, draw one, and that’s it. It’s totally fair and extremely easy to understand. We always watch a movie on Friday nights, and I have a few choices in mind for tomorrow night, but I’ve been the one who chooses the movie the past three weeks. This time, I believe I will simply follow her preferences.
