I wish I hadn’t signed the one year lease without seeing the house first
When I found a new job it required that I relocate about 750 miles away. Of course, that meant finding a new house to rent. However, with the close turnaround for moving it didn’t leave us a lot of time to shop around for houses. My buddy and I did get to see the home before my fantastic friend and I rented it either. My buddy and I saw some pictures, liked the location, in addition to signed the lease digitally. That turned out to be a large mistake. It turns out that the home does not have central A/C or heating. I didn’t even recognize to check when my fantastic friend and I were looking online. I just assumed that all houses have A/C in addition to heating. Well not this one. When my fantastic friend and I arrived at our new home the home owner was there with our keys. My buddy and I then toured the house. I observed that there was a window A/C component blasting away in the home office. It was cool in addition to comfortable in the home office however only in the home office. The rest of the home was uncomfortably warm. Then I observed that each room has a baseboard heater. I said something like, “doesn’t this home have central heating in addition to air?” The home owner said “no, it does not. It has what you see here”. Then she went on to say how that was mentioned in the advertisement in addition to she got all defensive. So now I feel like we’ve gotten off on the wrong foot. I wish I hadn’t signed the one year lease without seeing the house first. I wonder if there is a way to back out of it without paying a lot of currency. I would rather live in a home that has central heating in addition to air in addition to it would be easier to just transport now rather than wait until my fantastic friend and I unpack everything.
