What a lifeless evening. As we didn’t really pack anything for the weekend, my wife left the cabin as I sat there to get some snacks. Owning a cabin is nice, but if there is really no one to chat with at night, it can get a little boring. Since there isn’t a television here, we always leave our phones at home. Our retreat from civilization is this cabin. Being close to a great fishing spot and the fact that I enjoy hunting makes it cool. Around the cabin at this time of year, there are many deer wandering the nearby woods. I can still recall how one of them bumped his head against the window last year while walking up to it in the middle of the night. Due to her extreme panic, my wife began berating me mercilessly. For that particular evening, it was hilarious, and I have no doubt that the deer also laughed out loud. To put it simply, my wife won the day the following morning. I have a few books I like to read while my wife is out grabbing things. I should read more frequently; I don’t do it much other than when I’m here. My feet are kept warm by the fireplace, which is lit. I merely request that an HVAC technician from the HVAC company visit the cabin a few times a year to check that everything is in working order for us as a family. It’s not possible that I would want to be here if something negative occurred. We intend for this to be a calm, stress-free space where we can unwind. Speaking of unwinding, my wife smacked me in the back of the head after I dozed off. Another benefit, aside from that smack, is that I find my haven for sleeping in front of the fireplace.
