For many years, I lived in a safe neighborhood, and I did not worry about burglaries or crime because the neighborhood was in a secluded area. Currently, I live on the edge of the city in a section that is entirely accessible from many directions. I don’t mind living in an area saturated with younger people with various colleges and universities nearby, but occasionally, some of those young people will randomly walk into the backyard at night asking for drug hookups. It’s becoming a bit challenging when my buddy John and I try to sit on the back porch and enjoy a drink after 7pm when darkness has finally arrived. My mom is scared that I live in this part of the city, but it’s the best that I can do right now given my current financial situation. One thing that has calmed my nerves and has made me feel a lot safer is calling to get an advanced security system installed in my house. Protecting my home with a security system means that I worry less about burglars and criminals while I’m sleeping at night. I feel safe going to work each day without that lingering thought in the back of my mind that my possessions aren’t safe and that my house would be burglarized. Now that these advanced security systems are digitally integrated with “smart,” technology, it means I can monitor my HVAC system, lighting system, and security system all from my iPhone as long as I have a signal. I love that I can check on my pets inside my house while I’m away for hours during the day. Having these advanced security systems makes my life a lot easier than it would be otherwise.
