The other night when we went to my son’s sports banquet, it was so hot in there that I thought I was going to just pass out. My son plays all kinds of different sports, but our favorite one to watch is baseball. When they finished up their season with a championship win, the team coaches planned a big banquet for the whole team and the families at the end of the summer. I like the way that they do the banquet at the end of the summer and the way that they give out trophies for different things to the team. It’s always fun to see who’s going to get what, and my son always does really well. It makes him happy to get new trophies and medals, so I always like going with him to these banquets. However, at this particular banquet, the restaurant did not have the thermostat settings set correctly. It’s still really hot outside, and the weather is not cooling off at all yet. That night, the air conditioning was running, but I think they must have had the thermostat set at around 75 degrees. By the time all of the sports families got crammed into the banquet hall, the temperature in the place had risen quite a few degrees. By the time they started handing out the trophies, I was sweating and the air conditioning was unable to keep up with the body temperature inside the place. It was so hot by the time we left that I looked like I had been through a shower!
