I’ve been pretty bummed out with just how the feeling is around this country lately.
It seems like there is almost a default hostility rather than simple human kindness anymore.
But a recent HVAC replacement has helped me regain my faith in my fellow man. I live in a small community and I’m lucky for that. Actually, I’m quite lucky all the way around really. I have a good job that affords me to provide a great home with excellent quality heating and air. But I’m also very lucky to have such a great bunch of neighbors. And they showed just how great they are when one of our own was in need of HVAC cooling. Where we live, the whole thing is about cooling in the summer when it comes to HVAC. Honestly, the winters are so mild, a person could get my with space heaters if they had to. And apparently, one of our neighbors did just that. She’s a widow who lives on a very fixed income and her HVAC equipment gave out. But she didn’t say a word and didn’t have the money to replace the heat pump. She went through the mild winter like that. However, once it started getting warmer, a neighbor noticed that her heat pump wasn’t running. We asked her about it and that’s when she told us she didn’t have the money to replace the heating and cooling equipment. Well, it didn’t take a week for the rest of the neighborhood to chip in. And the local HVAC company sold us the HVAC equipment at wholesale price and did the installation for free. That’s the sort of thing that gives me hope.
