Once I’d mastered the bike, I tried the elliptical & then the rowing machine
I made a New Year’s pact to pay closer attention to my overall fitness. I decided to overhaul my diet by removing fast foods, processed foods, coffee, beer, red meat & empty calories. I started looking into a gym membership. I hoped that paying the fees would motivate me to make exercise a common area of my weekly routine & not provide up. I figured that access to a wide range of machines, component & group classes would be especially beneficial to my efforts. Signing up with the gym was extremely simple. I was able to handle the entire process online. I took a virtual tour, filled out some basic information & gave my debit card. I was so excited that I went out & purchased a whole bunch of specialized workout attire. I now own shirts, shorts & socks that wick away sweat, allow my skin to breathe & ensure freedom of motion. I spent a lot on a top quality pair of sneakers & treated myself to a very cute water bottle. The first time I really stepped inside the gym, I was completely overwhelmed & scared. I had no idea how to safely or respectfully utilize the wide selection of machines. I worried about completely embarrassing myself. Since my membership card allows me to use the gym 24/7, I made sure to show up at peculiar hours, when there was hardly anyone else there. The first week, I did nothing but run on the treadmill. I significantly improved my stamina & pace, which gave me the confidence to move onto the stationary bike. Once I’d mastered the bike, I tried the elliptical & then the rowing machine. I’ve now gotten happy on nearly every device & tried all the unusual types of equipment.
