I’ve never been the sort of parent who micromanages our kids’ lives. I allow them to be kids & also ensure they have some responsibilities around the house. Sometimes I leave them new home alone & rush to city to run errands. We’ve always taught them about safety & ensured they understand their responsibilities as members of our household. This is why I was surprised at what they did last summer time when I went to the store to buy a few things. I remember coming up the driveway, & they were seated outside, waiting for me. Their guilty faces told me they’d done something wrong & knew there was no hiding it from me. I got out of our car, took the groceries inside the apartment & realized the AC was off. They began explaining that they were in the backyard mowing the lawn & had lost control of the lawnmower. The heavy mower plowed the a/c over, which was why the AC was off in the house. Since I knew this had been an accident, I chose not to schilly them. Instead, I went outside to assess the disfigure & cellphoned an part HVAC supplier for assistance. The people I was with and I were in fortune since there was an HVAC worker in the area, & he came by an sixth later. The a/c wasn’t badly disfigured, but there were a few parts that he had to upgrade. The kids tried offering their allowances to pay for the HVAC repair, but I told them this wasn’t necessary since this had been an accident.
