The last year and a half hasn’t been easy on many of us financially.
I didn’t lose my job at the beginning of the pandemic, but my hours and my overall salary decreased and I had to work a part-time job to pay all of my bills on time.
Even though I have gotten many of these hours back in the last year and a half, my rent increased, my credit has tanked, and I’m finding that all goods and services are skyrocketing in price. This is due to a whole list of factors that are unfortunately having a negative synergistic effect. It’s not going to get any easier as the year moves forward. I have taxes on my house to pay and the weather outside is going to get colder in a few weeks. I haven’t used my furnace since March, but I’ll probably have it running again before I know it. This always results in massive energy bills until the spring thaw. As a result, I am often living paycheck to paycheck every winter with these heating bills. I decided to get control of my winter heating expenses by getting a new heating system altogether. After looking at the various options in my budget range, I chose a heat pump. They efficiently harvest ambient heat in outdoor air, even when it’s “cold” outside. Thankfully the heat pump exceeded my expectations and I’m finally out of living paycheck to paycheck for the whole winter heating season. I enjoy the heat pump’s performance as well compared to a standard furnace.
My new heat pump is freeing me from living paycheck to paycheck every winter
