I love visiting my sister Jen because I get to see my niece and nephew. They are getting so big and it’s great that I get to spend time with them. I went to see her a few weeks ago because her youngest daughter was turning 3 and they had a paint party for her. The party was so much fun, and both the kids, as well as the adults, participated in all the festivities. We painted, ate cake, played games, danced, and so much more. Anyway, while I love going to Jen’s, it can be a bit uncomfortable. Jen loves to keep her thermostat set to the lowest possible setting. Well, not the lowest, but it is set to 62 degrees. This means her house is always cold, so when I am there, I am always wearing sweats, socks, and covered up under a blanket just to stay warm. When it’s that cold, it can be hard to play with the kids, but they don’t seem to mind the house being cold. Perhaps they are just used to it. In addition to the thermostat being set to 62 degrees, Jen has a window air conditioner inside her room that she uses every night. I am baffled by that because the house is already cold. Needless to say, her room feels like you’re walking into an ice box. I can’t imagine what her utility bill is like, using both central air conditioners as well as a window air conditioner. I don’t believe these two pieces of equipment should be running simultaneously. Anyway, aside from the cold air conditioner, I love visiting my sister. And best of all, I am only there for a few days.
