Renting a home or an apartment involves many factors.
I enjoyed renting for a while since I knew I wouldn’t have to restore grass, and that any problems with the machine would be resolved without spending a dime.
Sadly, after reporting an issue to a property supervisor, I quickly learned that these problems are typically ignored. Some people had to live with faulty air conditioning for over a month during the middle of summer. I was very angry about the property management office’s borderline-illegal practices. The first time I moved into a rental lake house that was rented directly from the owner, I had the idea that somehow I would have a better experience this time. As a result, I was left with more responsibilities to handle on my own. In the contract, the owner stated that I was responsible for all plumbing repairs. Later, I learned that it was their complicity in covering up the faulty plumbing and their understanding of it. My brick grout had to be cleaned by a commercial cleaning contractor when I moved out. My roommates and I had lived in that house for years, and there was severe staining in the brick grout from room to room that we had failed to remove. Although I tried cleaning the grout with diluted bleach and a mop, I was unable to get the color to fade. The commercial floor cleaning contractor we hired did a fantastic job cleaning the grout and got the task done in under an hour. It was amazing to see how clean the brick grout looked after the floor cleaners left.
