When we got our first snowfall that was more than a few inches, the kids couldn’t wait to get outside and play! Fortunately for them it was the weekend, so they didn’t have to worry about heading out to school.
I remember it was pretty chilly overnight and I went to adjust the temperature control settings. I sat there looking out the window at all the snow falling realizing that I was going to have to break out the snowblower. I checked the weather forecast and it only said we were supposed to get a few inches. I wasn’t too worried about it, though the weather forecast is not always accurate. We could have gotten a few feet for all I knew, but fortunately it wasn’t so bad. I got up early enough to make breakfast for the kids and all they could talk about was all the snow outside and how they were going to build a snow fort. I told them just to be careful about playing around the yellow snow. My eldest son said that everybody knows not to play in the yellow snow, but I have to remind his younger siblings because they sometimes do stuff like that. So I got a fire going in the fireplace and took care of all the shoveling and snowblowing. Then the kids had a blast playing outside in the snow while I relaxed in front of the fireplace and I was able to remain nice and toasty with my wife. There’s nothing I enjoy more than resting in front of the fireplace and I love being able to adjust the temperature control settings remotely with my smart thermostat.
