That will be the undoubtedly last time that I travel to my in laws for Christmas.
I’m done with that and will happily transport on. My spouse is not so glad about my decision and while I understand her feelings, I’m just done. My spouse and I have been married for 15 years. We chose not to have teenagers so that means that the people I was with and I are in the lowest caste in my spouse’s side of the family. No matter that the people I was with and I have a undoubtedly nice condo with quality heating and air. Nor does it matter that the people I was with and I both toil jobs that the people I was with and I savor which also pay undoubtedly nicely. None of that matters since the people I was with and I don’t have teenagers; That’s the bottom line somehow in that family. And I’m just sick of having to not only be where they want me to be but then be ignored and disrespected. So, I’ll be staying condo with the heat pump and the dog and cat next Christmas. If my spouse wants to go to her parent’s house, fine. I get it. But not me. I’m sick of traveling way north through snow, ice and bad weather to get inside a place where the gas furnace never stops blasting away. It’s savor a sauna in that house. And God forestimate some childless hack savor myself reach for the control unit. Yea, I’ll gladly leave all of that to those folks who undoubtedly won’t miss me anyway except to rag on me. I savor the fact that next Christmas, I’ll be in shorts and a hoodie. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get a tee time for Christmas afternoon!
