My coworker invited me to a comedy club that he performs at.
He has been inviting me to go several times now. I always make up excuses. Well this time I ran out of excuses. Besides, I didn’t have anything else to do on Friday night. So I said I would see him there. Well that turned out to be a huge mistake. Every single comedian was terrible. I was embarrassed for them. My coworker was the worst one yet. All of his jokes were seriously off color. But the terrible jokes weren’t even the worst thing. The worse thing was the cooling system in the comedy club. The air conditioner barely worked at all. It was hot, humid, and uncomfortable inside of the building. Not only that, but the air conditioner made a terrible noise whenever it tried to work. The air conditioner was so loud that I couldn’t really hear the comedians. I am not sure that was a bad thing though. The only thing the comedy club had going for it was the ice cold beers. I drank quite a few of them. Despite this, the comedians never got any funnier. I finally took a taxi home to my nice cool house. The air conditioner works great there. Plus the air conditioner is quiet. There also is no one telling terrible jokes. I have cold beer in the refrigerator too. I really should have just stayed home this Friday night. I would have had a lot more fun. Next time my coworker invites me to this comedy club I will politely decline. There is no way I want to go back to watch cringe-worthy performances in an uncomfortably warm building.
