When we were looking at this house I didn’t really care about the heated floors that were in the bathroom.
The realtor, however, made a really big deal about the underfloor heating.
Neither my husband nor I thought we would ever use it though. It’s rather hot here in the south so we were a lot more interested in the air conditioning. We also really like the layout of the house so we ended up buying it. Overtime though we found ourselves using the heated floors and actually liking them. We like to cool down the whole home with the central air conditioner but not have to be freezing cold when we get out of the shower. It’s definitely not an everyday thing, but it’s a nice luxury to use from time to time. When we got a puppy those heated floor is turned out to be irreplaceable. We set up Spotty in her crate in the bathroom so that she would be close to us at night. We didn’t want to put her on the carpeting as she might make a mess. The tile in the bathroom just made sense. She cried the whole night long. The next day I heard that warmth and a clock can help new puppies feel safe and sleep the night through. That night we turned the underfloor heating on in the bathroom and set it to 90 degrees. Then I put an old clock on top of her crate. Spotty complained for a few minutes about being alone and then she slept the whole night. My husband and I ended up using the heated floors to make spotty feel safe and secure for 10 days until she didn’t need it anymore. That realtor was right, the heated floors in this house really are luxurious.
