My husband is the type of person that when you buy something, you keep it for life.
- He has a hard time throwing anything out, even if it is garbage.
I learned the hard way with a couch that it is the couch forever. It was 800 bucks, an ugly light gray and it was huge. It is the ugliest thing in my household but he won’t let me update it. So the ugly couch stays. Thankfully I learned early on about my husband’s issues and have been careful about purchases. When we remodeled the kitchen I really thought about a good kitchen table. I didn’t buy one for a long time because I needed to choose something I would love for the rest of my life. I looked around online and nothing was the denominations and kind of wood I liked. I needed a specific size and I wanted wood to match the rest of my furniture. I ended up looking around and found a custom furniture builder. The kitchen table price quote was actually cheaper than any of the other pieces I was looking at. I was able to get the exact size I wanted and the material. It is just perfect. It is a heavy duty, but attractive piece. It wipes up so nicely and really makes the space look more sophisticated than it should be. I feel I now own a kitchen table that will be passed down through the generations. I bet my great grandchildren will fight over that table.
