I have not been cheering on the demise of our HVAC equipment, at least not actively. However, the dang thing could give up the ghost already. But I think I’ll make the call to the HVAC company sooner rather than later. It’s really weird to actually be ready to replace the HVAC equipment. Had I played this out in my mind, I would have thought I get caught with my pants down when it came to the HVAC unit. Normally, this is sort of how it goes with machines and me. They lull me into a state of false confidence only to then completely break down at the worst possible moment. But the HVAC professionals gave me the needed heads up so that didn’t happen with the heating and cooling. That’s really the great thing about getting consistent HVAC maintenance. The HVAC technician told me that we would need to start planning to replace the HVAC unit more than a year ago. And in that time, I’ve been able to get my HVAC ducks in a row and avoid a scramble to replace the HVAC equipment. The HVAC technician also told me what to look for in order to know the end is near with the heat pump. He said that we’d see HVAC costs spike and we have. He told me that it would run a lot more and it did. Now, I notice there is a vibration to the HVAC cabinet outside and that was the final sign. So looks like I’ll be calling the HVAC company.
