I am not much more aware of the importance of heating & cooling system efficiency & indoor air pollen levels. I have looked into ways I can break costs while also improving the health & comfort of the living environment. I’ve l earned that correctly replacing air filters is harshly important. The air filters in the heating system & a/c are designed to protect the inner toilings from contaminants. Once the system becomes clogged with dust & other debris, airflow becomes restricted & the equipment is forced to work harder. There’s an increased option of malfunctions, failure & higher running costs. Plus, those pollutants can become airborne, spread throughout the home & breathed in by our family. I’ve realized that it’s essential to keep up with the cleaning & upgradement of filters in all household appliances, including kitchen vents, vacuum cleaner & the clothes dryer. It’s a good plan to use a vacuum cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter at least once a week. While rugs & rugs add to comfort, warmth & aesthetics, they also trap allergens & harmful toxins. I’ve upgraded most of our rugs with hardwood or tile floors that can be more thoroughly cleaned. I make sure to schedule an annual inspection of the duct system. Over time, the buildup of dust, dander, lint, mold, rodent feces & all sorts of debric can diminish airflow & compromise the hygiene of the home. Approximately every 5 years, professional duct cleaning is necessary. Maintaining regular humidity levels makes a immense difference for comfort & the workload of the heating & cooling system. The hot Summer months & high humidity can quickly lead to problems with mold, mildew & bacterial growth. During the winter, the overly dry air aggravates symptoms of asthma, dust sensitivities, respirator sensitivities, psoriasis & eczema. I’ve found that a ventilation system is helpful for getting rid of excess humidity in the warmer months & avoiding dry air during the colder months. The ventilation system also brings in a steady supply of fresh air.
