After relocating up north, we had to admit we weren’t prepared for the massive change.
Life has been fun down south where the weather tends to be warmer, and not too brutal.
Summers were hot, a bit too hot if you ask me, but winters were mild. We got snow, but nothing like we were experiencing in our new location. We’d purchased a house that came with 80 acres of land, and wanted to set up a small farm. However, there were a few things to handle before we started the business, including doing some market research in the local farmers market. Our house needed some renovation which we took care of, and even upgraded the old heating system. The previous owner did have a log burner set up that he’d light on cold nights. But, we wanted more efficiency in heating. This was made even more pressing that first winter when we were always in warm clothes even with the heating system on. We had to find a solution and decided to invest a lot of money in radiant floor heating. This is a type of heating known for efficiency, comfort, and reliability. We did some research and came across a local company that did radiant floor heating installation in the area. They came, did an inspection, and left a quote for the job. This was a lot of money, but we knew we’d benefit so much having radiant floor heating in the house, especially during the long winter months. If you can afford to install radiant floor heating in your home, go for it. Not only is it energy efficient, it helps with even heat distribution in your home.
